How to Get a Library Card
A free library card is available to all Haledon residents and/or taxpayers. A Haledon Library Card is also available to Prospect Park residents through the Borough of Prospect Park.
If a library card is lost, the charge for replacement shall be $3.00 the first time, $5.00 for the second and $10.00 for the third and beyond.
Anyone applying for a library card must do so in person and show proper identification (preferably a driver’s license) and proof of residency (such as a utility bill with name and address of applicant).
Your library card must be present at each checkout.
Students who attend Manchester Regional High School in Haledon, New Jersey, are able to get a Haledon Library courtesy card by presenting a valid school ID card. This card allows students to use Haledon library computers, books, and other resources free of charge for one year and can be renewed each year.
Library cardholders are responsible for all materials checked out on their card.
Children (kindergarten through age 17) will be issued a juvenile card, which must have a parent/guardian signature assuming responsibility for materials borrowed. Because not all material is suitable for all ages, the library reserves the right to require parental consent for borrowing adult material on a juvenile card. You must have an adult card to check out DVDs.
Library borrowing privileges will be revoked if a patron owes $5.00 or more. The library reserves the right to keep the card of any patron whose privileges are revoked.
Your Library Account
In order to request or renew books and view fines, you will need your library card number and a pin number. Your pin number is the last four digits of your telephone number or the last four numbers of your library card number.
